If what you need is to get closer to your customers and, of course, attract potential followers, there are many ways to generate visits and interaction toward the corporate website, through a social network that has a lot to offer: LinkedIn.
Most organizations, if not almost all of them, choose to generate content through Facebook and Twitter but pay less attention to what LinkedIn can offer them in terms of brand exposure.
This social network is packed with professionals and companies across every category, and it helps users spend as much time as possible on your website, in addition to bringing in more traffic than other virtual communities.
A study by consulting firm Digital Insights reported that, by the end of 2013, 27% of users accessed LinkedIn from their phone, mentioned there are around three million registered companies, and that 81% of the community belongs to at least one shared-interest group.
Given these advantages, how can we generate more traffic on this social network? Below we share the following guidelines.
- Create a complete profile. All the company's data about what it does needs to be listed here. Remember this is the first contact between the user and the brand, so it must create a pleasant impression from the start.
- Add connections. The more first-degree connection clicks you have, the more traffic will come to your site. It's not advisable to limit the number of contacts, because that will also limit your visibility. It's also recommended to place links to your information on your page.
- Look for groups related to your brand. On LinkedIn there are groups with more than 500,000 members; these are the right places to share or link articles, not only to connect the company, but also so your website builds its leadership in the category.
- Create a group. This is a priority task for building an audience within LinkedIn and sending messages to that audience you're trying to build loyalty with whenever it makes sense. This way you'll manage to drive traffic to your own content made in-house.
- Take advantage of tools and applications. The social network boosts your page's visibility. Some applications like Slideshare (to show presentations) or Polls (lets you gather data from your contacts) will give a visual touch to your site's latest updates.
Remember that Facebook and Twitter aren't the only channels for exposing your brand — with LinkedIn you can exceed some pretty pleasant expectations in the future.
